Walden is located 53 miles north of the George Bush Airport. Since 1972, its tree-lined peninsula has been home to people from all over the world. They realize the benefits of living in a close-knit community along the shores of picturesque Lake Conroe.  

While Lake Conroe embodies a natural splendor, its origins are actually manmade. Construction of this 22,000-acre lake began construction in January of 1970. While you navigate through the 1200 acres of beautifully wooded terrain, be sure to note the variety of residential options intermingled with outstanding recreational facilities.
 

In addition to the lake activities, Walden offers a 536-slip marina, a breathtaking 18-hole golf course, a 16-court tennis facility, swimming pools, a 2.1 mile hike-and-bike trail and much more! Social activities include numerous community events such as The Walden Follies, Fourth of July Parade, Fireworks display, and many more activities for those who want to get involved!  

Walden on Lake Conroe is planned for 5,190 dwellings. There are estate homes, single family homes, patio homes, townhomes and condominiums. Walden is also the homebase for Montgomery Independent School District.  

Walden’s Golf & Country Club 

Walden on Lake Conroe’s golf course is distinguished among the top 10 private courses in Texas by the Dallas Morning News and is named number 5 by Golf Digest. The 11th hole is Walden’s signature hole, a double dog leg par 5 measuring 589 yards. It is rated among the eighteen best, toughest and most beautiful holes in Texas. The number 11 at Walden is recognized by the editors of Golf Magazine as one of the 500 World’s Greatest Golf holes!  

This prestigious course was designed by Robert Von Hagge and Bruce Devlin. Its challenging greens, pristine bunkers, towering pines and ancient oaks make playing this course a golfer’s delight!
